You don't need to spend a cent to start using AI in your business. Here's one habit worth starting today, whether or not you ever become a client of mine.
The problem
You finish a call or a quote on-site, get straight back to work, and by the time you're home that evening half the details have gone fuzzy — was it the front fence or the back, did they say Tuesday or Thursday, what was the gate code again? So you either ring back and ask (awkward), guess (risky), or lose the job to whoever followed up faster.
The free fix
Your phone almost certainly already has free AI voice-to-text built in — Gboard's microphone key or the Recorder app on Android, Dictation on iPhone. The moment you hang up or walk away from a job, hold it down and just talk out loud, the same way you'd tell a mate: "Sarah, Kootingal, wants a quote for the back fence, gate code's 4471, dog's friendly." It's transcribed instantly, for free, no typing required.
Make it stick
The only thing that makes this pay off long-term is being able to find the note again — so save it somewhere consistent (a dedicated Notes folder, a running memo) rather than however it happens to land. A voice note you can't find later is no better than the memory it replaced.
Where this goes next
That's the whole tip — genuinely free, works today, no tools from me required. Where it gets more useful is when those voice notes stop being loose text files and turn into something searchable, organised, and shared with whoever else needs it — which is exactly the gap the Job Scheduler App fills for the businesses I work with.
